MARK LEWIS

As the owner and Managing Director of Cape Landing, Mark Lewis harmonizes the rich heritage of the Margaret River wine region with innovative Australian viticulture. Established in 1996, Cape Landing stands on an ancient landscape in the southwest of Western Australia, revered for its single vineyard wines that encapsulate the essence of the vineyard’s terroir.

Mark transitioned from his role as a partner at prestigious offshore law firm Walkers in the Cayman Islands to the helm of Cape Landing in 2016. With familial roots in Margaret River, his leadership has infused new vitality into the vineyard. Under his guidance, Cape Landing is not only a beacon of winemaking excellence but also a sanctuary for biodiversity. The vineyard's practices ensure the protection of native species and plant communities, nurturing an ecosystem that yields fragrant and textured wines.

Cape Landing’s portfolio, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc, has garnered international acclaim. Cape Landing’s Blackwood Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, in particular, stood out as the runner-up in Decanter Magazine’s ‘Wines of the Year 2021’ with a remarkable 98-point rating.

Looking forward, Mark envisions Cape Landing as a paragon of eco-conscious winemaking, advancing the legacy of the region's pioneer settlers through a commitment to land stewardship and winemaking brilliance.
