Stephen Cronk

Picture
Stephen first joined the wine trade in his early twenties and, within a few years, set up his own wine business in London. Six years later, he sold it and moved into the world of IT where, shortly after, he met his wife Jeany and declared, “one day we’ll pay off the mortgage, sell the house, and make wine”.

In 2009, they did just that. With their three children and barely a word of French between them, they settled in the beautiful Provençal village of Cotignac and began creating Mirabeau, a brand with an exceptional range of rosé wines and gin created through rigorous sourcing, artful blending and innovative marketing. Today, Maison Mirabeau is recognised the world over for their award-winning portfolio of wines and dry rosé gin, which are widely distributed across the US as well as being the number one selling Provence Rosé portfolio in the UK.

In 2019, Stephen and Jeany found their ”Coup de Coeur” and acquired Domaine Mirabeau, a 20 hectare estate nestled just under the Maures mountain range in the heart of the Côtes de Provence. Now stewards of their own land, they embarked on an ongoing journey to regenerate the soil, restore biodiversity and sequester more carbon at the Domaine, along with converting the estate to Organic.

Driven by this purpose, last year Stephen founded The Regenerative Viticulture Foundation, a UK-based charity which promotes greater biodiversity in viticulture on a global scale, with an assembly of renowned experts in the fields of science, farming, and communications.
