PIERRE LANDET

Pierre was born in Toulouse, France, where even as a young child he was inspired by observing his mother’s efficient, organized, and economical approach to planning and preparing delicious family meals, according to what was in season at the local market. While still a teenager, having only eaten in a handful of small restaurants, he knew he wanted to work in the kitchen. He was awarded the best apprentice chef in the Midi Pyrenee region when he was 18 years old. After years of very intense appenticing and working under several notable chefs in France such as Marcelin Pujol at Restaurant Pujol, with one Michelin star; Claude Deligne at Taillevent, with three Michelin stars; Jacques Chibois at Royal Gray, with two Michelin stars. After traveling through other countries, he settled in New York City where he has since worked in popular restaurants and for private families. His career has been and continues to be inspired by the traditions and techniques of French cooking, with a focus on the southwest region.

Pierre is a three-time winner of the Cassoulet Wars, a competition devoted to promoting a “sacred” preparation rooted in the region of his birth. He’s an enthusiastic member of many years’ standing of the Maitres Cuisiniers de France, Academie Culinaire de France, and Societe Culinaire Philanthropique. In 2024 he was humbled and honored to be recognized by his beloved France, who awarded him the Merit Agricole for his consistent and lifelong work promoting her culinary history and techniques, fine agricultural products to the world. Proud Mami Coco, Pierre’s mother, still prepares excellent dishes for three successive generations of her family.
