SIMON CROMPTON

Not a stranger to the Cayman Cookout, Simon began working in the UK in Leeds and London running bars, nightclubs and restaurants before moving to Cayman in 2005 for the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.

He worked at the beach bar Barjack for 6 years before moving to Agua restaurant and creating one of the island’s first boutique cocktail bars. During this time working for Agua Simon competed in numerous cocktail competitions, notably winning ‘Stoli Best Bartender in the Caribbean’ and also the first World Class Cayman Islands in 2013. He then competed in the global finals in Europe where he positioned 11th out of 55 of the world best bartenders. Returning from a year off island Simon took up the first ever position of Diageo Brand Ambassador in Cayman promoting cocktail culture and teaching cocktails, whilst always promoting the island as a Cocktail Capital of the Caribbean.

Finally after five years Simon left Jacques Scott and Diageo to open Door No.4, one of Cayman’s premier cocktail bars. Door No.4 has already been nominated for Best New Cocktail Bar in the South/ Central American and the Caribbean and has won numerous awards on island.
