Coined “Napa’s Top Gun” by Wine Spectator, Thomas Rivers Brown has long been recognized in the wine industry for his passion, natural talent, and dedication to exceptional quality. A native of South Carolina, Thomas began his winemaking career in 1997 when he moved to Napa Valley and met winemaker Ehren Jordan while working in a wine shop, and soon after accepted a position under Jordan at Turley Wine Cellars. In 2000, Thomas met Fred Schrader, who was looking for a hands-on winemaker to join the team at Schrader Cellars. Over the course of his time at Schrader Cellars, Thomas developed a portfolio of benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the legendary To Kalon Vineyard and other renowned Napa Valley vineyards, known for their “no holds barred” character. Under his leadership, Schrader wines have earned forty 100-point scores from the world’s most respected critics, the most of any New World winery. In 2002, Thomas joined the Double Diamond team alongside Fred Schrader, and he continues to lead winemaking for both wineries today.
